TORK Coyote
Additional details
The TORK, selected by the French Army to equip the personnel of the ALAT - Aviation Légère de l'Armée de Terre (French Army Light Aviation) - in 2021, is a survival knife distinguished by its double integral guard ensuring total protection. Its name comes from the word "torque" in English, which refers to the torque of the main rotor of a helicopter.
It features a sharp edge on the top for using the included firestone and a flat blade back for effective batoning. Its elaborate serration includes a first tooth for cutting helmet connectors, followed by further serrations designed for cutting straps or ropes.
The pommel integrates a glass breaker for emergency helicopter evacuation, and a hole at the back allows for the addition of a lanyard (not included).
The TORK comes with a coyote sheath that meets a very comprehensive specification and includes:
- a main body
- a firestone
- a diamond plate
- two calf straps
It is very compact to be compatible with all helicopter cockpits in the fleet (without interfering with flight controls in particular). It offers versatile carrying options, ideal for MOLLE and calf carrying, and can be positioned on a vest. Three secure retention systems hold the knife in the sheath: by wedging, retractable central pressure, and retractable elastic to press the knife against the sheath.
The calf straps are stretchable and equipped with a non-slip coating, ensuring optimal comfort and quick attachment without the risk of snagging. The comfort of these straps is essential as the operator must be able to run for several kilometers without discomfort or injury.
A diamond sharpening plate is housed on the back of the sheath, accompanied by a Swedish firestone (Light My Fire), usable with a special notch on the back of the blade. Additionally, 55 mm of firestarter paracord, containing a hemp core and fishing line, is cleverly attached to the sheath.
Technical specifications:
- Straight knife of 26 cm
- Blade length of 13.3 cm
- Stainless steel 14C28N
- Blade thickness: 4.1 mm
- Hardness: 57-58 HRC
- Weight: 260 g / 515 g with sheath
- Tactiprene handle
- Delivered with ambidextrous Nylon sheath
(jours ouvrés et hors produits personnalisables)
